Kim's Table

Remember when I posted about wanting to make all the furniture from this site?

No?

That's okay, I probably wouldn't remember either, if I were you.
You can check the post here if you need a refresher.

But what I really wanted to tell you was that my friend Kim has actually done it.
She and her husband made this table.

Did you catch that?  They MADE this table.  From scratch.  I'm so impressed, and more than a little jealous.

Kim said that the picture doesn't do color of the table justice but it also don't show all of the imperfections either.  "It really was a fun project to do and I hope we get to do more in the future!"

I hope you do too Kim.  And I hope I do too, for that matter.
Check out Kim's blog for more pictures of the process, and also some adorable letters she writes to her kids.

And don't forget to check out www.knock-offwood.com/ to find plans to build your own furniture!

More food

                                                               via flickr

I've been eyeing these crackers everytime I go grocery shopping for QUITE some time now.
I finally decided to give them a try.

Squishy was hungry when we left the store,
so we got them out in the car.

By the time we got home our package looked like this....

In his defense, Carter only had 3.

They are yummy!

Eating a whole package in a 5 minute period is; however, not recommended.

Does this ever happen to you?

For the past 2 or 3 days
(okay, so maybe we're pushing a week, but who's counting)
my room has looked like this...

Now it looks like this...

and now I can breathe again!

Natalie does it again

I can't stop thinking about
from Natalie Norton about luck.

I've spent the last day looking at situations in my life and thinking how I can change them.

I've thought a lot about things that bug me right now that I have thought were just bad breaks.  I can see now that
really,

it usually does "go deeper than that."

Thanks Nat!

Happy trails to you

Although I must confess,
I pick out all the dark chocolate.

I just don't love dark chocolate.

Do you?

Post edited: I polished off my bag last night.
I realized I forgot to buy a new one as I was driving away from the grocery store.

Bummer.

Drooling

My husband met this really nice man at his work
(who turned out to be a fairly distant cousin of mine)
who offered to make birdhouse kits for our webelos.

Last night we went over to pick them up.

I fell in love.

with his workshop.

He has every sort of tool, saw, and drill.
And piles and piles of lumber waiting to become something.

I was so jealous.

This morning I am I dreaming of making every single thing on

Except I don't know where I'd put it when I finished!

Lost

I can't believe LOST is really over.
It still feels to me like there is a group of people stranded on an island
in the middle of the ocean, in real life.

Every time I see a cast member in a different show or commercial
I think,"Good for them, they got off the island and got an acting job."

Maybe it's a good thing it's over!

Happy, happy birthday
Likeke dear.

Happy days will come
to you
all year.

If I had a wish than it would be....

a happy, happy birthday to
you from me!

Okay, so that's probably actually NOT what I'd wish for if I really got a wish.

It'd probably be something like 1,001 more wishes,
or lots of money
or
you know...
something a little more lasting.

But whatever I got....
I'd share it with you!

Happy birthday, dude!

I love you.

Oh what do you do in the summertime?

We are hoping that it is
warm enough/we are brave enough
to go here this weekend.

My famous niece

My niece is in this commercial.
She is the adorable one.

If you can't find her from that description...
she is wearing a yellow shirt
and has big beautiful black ponytails!

We're so proud of you Keawe!

DIY Clock

For a long time I wondered what DIY stood for.
Now it's one of my favorite things to search for on the internet.

I can't wait to give it a try!

Caterpillars

I paid a visit to Desert Industries
in Richfield, Utah
and was rewarded with these treasures...

I can't wait to see what they decide to turn into!!

Babysitter

I spent a week in CA watching my sister-in-law's kids.
As you can see I did a fantastic job keeping an eye on all of them!

I wonder where the term "babysitter" came from anyway?
Check out this wikipedia article for a few interesting theories.
